When Things Go Wrong

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
You feel that your path is going uphill
Take a deep breath and relax your mind
Tasks become easy as you complete one at a time

Accept assistance from colleagues with grace
Find strength in togetherness at the workplace
Do not try to do everything all on your own
For we all have our strong points to focus on

When we work together happily towards a common goal
We will surely be able to enjoy that pot of gold
Our journey may not always be easy without a doubt
Together we achieve more as we share our thoughts aloud

So when things go wrong as they sometimes do
Take things easy and let friends work with you
Get rid of that frown and dry up your tears
Put on a smile and remove all your fears

Spending Time Together

After all of us left school we never got together
We just went on our separate ways and never saw one another
Not a phone call not a card and not even a letter
Yet now as we get reconnected on facebook we seem to miss each other
If just one day goes by without a single banter
Then one of us would start to write or tease or poke the other
It is indeed so nice and refreshing to be online together
In any part of the world we may be it does not seem to matter
As long as the time is right we can write and chat with laughter
Oh yes it is so wonderful to live in this age of computer
No matter how far apart we live we can still spend time together

A Note To Self

As we perform our daily prayers
We try our best to focus but our mind often wanders
Our lips recite some holy verses
But our mind thinks of trivial matters
Our body seems to move like a robot
As if praying on auto-pilot
How do we expect Allah to listen to our prayer and supplication
When we ourselves do not train our heart, mind and soul towards giving our full commitment and concentration
Let us now take extra care about what we eat, what we say and what we think
For we must always remember that without Allah's Love, Mercy and Blessings upon us we are actually nothing

A Mother's Delight

One morning as I was about to go to work I heard a melody
My son was plucking away at his guitar oh so beautifully
A piece called "Romance d'Amour" he later told me
An instrumental solo from the nineteenth century
The guitar was proudly bought by Hadi himself using his own money
Much of which he had earned by selling Sabun Ener-G
Some he had also earned ironing his friends' shirts at university
And also from his participation in chess tournaments and other prize money
Some money presented to him by his grandpa and granny
And also some cash gifts from his uncles and auntie
But of course not forgetting some savings out of his pocket money
The most important sources of which are his mummy and daddy
